After three years of making sweet, sweet sketch comedy with PianoFight, Mission CTRL knows what works. And like any good ad agency, we know it’s not about making art that is personally enriching or socially important, it’s about making the audience, our Master Customer, feel personally enriched and socially important by any means necessary. And why wouldn’t we? You guys are the best! We also know that more than anything else, San Francisco needs a festival. So this time around, we’re taking no chances whatsoever and are teaming up with SF improv mainstays, Crisis Hopkins, to bring you PanderFest 2011, a chemically enriched comedy fest that is fresh out the lab, contains virtually zero organic material and is guaranteed to please. Yet this festival won’t be packed with a slew of flash-in-the-pan buzzbands nor does it purport to offer personal enlightenment through dance and substance ingestion (though it will include both). PanderFest 2011 features a lineup of your favorite feelings and concepts, painstakingly distilled from your heart into pure comedy. It’s science in the new millenium at its best.
After our extensive research, we now know that you want things like ‘authentic-circumstances-rife-with-absurdist-obstacles’, ‘local-artisanal-cheese’ and ‘kitten-video-violent-trending-buzz-meme’. That’s why we’re devoting an entire show to meeting all your bizarre yet understandable entertainment needs. Running every weekend October 7th – 29th at Stage Werx 446 in fan-favorite neighborhood ‘The Mission’, PanderFest isn’t just a comedy show, it’s a lifestyle choice. Come join us in the sanctuary of satisfaction that is PanderFest 2011.
Tickets are available now at PanderExpress.com and if you get yours before October 7th you’ll save a super burrito’s worth of dinero ($7.50!). We’ll see you at Stage Werx 446 in October but stay tuned to PianoFight.com for more chances to save and many more chances to try on some hand-tailored pandering. Let’s be honest, it looks great on you.
