APPETIZER:

Shortly after taking over Studio 250 at Off-Market Theaters, Piano Fight Productions put out a call on Craigslist looking for original scripts. We received about 60 submissions from all over the country, including one from a local playwright named Theo Miller.

His was by far the best we’d received (i.e. most lewd and hilarious) however we were having trouble figuring out how to market it. After a few meetings with zero headway, Miller mentioned that he had a new script, a comedy of manners set during a trip home for Thanksgiving dinner. Without reading it, we agreed to put it up as a World Premiere for the three weeks following Thanksgiving.

It was so successful, we have decided to extend it for four weeks starting January 11.

MAIN COURSE:

Ah the holidays, a time of murder, adultery, deception, racism, sexism, nepotism, egotism and pot smoke-ism. Sound familiar? We thought so. And hey, even if your relatives employ none of the above during family dinners, you’ll certainly be entertained by a family that does. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll drink a beer, and surrender yourself to a comedy of manners with rapid fire dialogue that will leave you wondering how you went so long without it. And in case you didn’t know, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the San Francisco Food Bank.

Penned by local-genius-writer-guy Theo Miller, CORNUCOPIA stars yet another rock star cast of Bennie Bell, Christy Crowley, Tova Katz, Andrea Leiboff, Jeremy Mascia, Rob Ready, Nina Weiss and Dan Williams, and is directed by Ready.
